Hello, I am Mike Evans. I am an accomplished piano player and singer who provides entertainment playing live music. I have a request list of 1,100 songs by 335 popular music artists and bands from the 1950’s through the 1990’s. Among the most frequent artists are Elton John, The Beatles, Billy Joel, James Taylor, The Eagles, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, U2, Sting, Cat Stevens, Neil Diamond and many others.
Rather than using published sheet music, I carefully work out the passages of each song myself by ear. Consequently the songs I play sound remarkably like the original recordings. For instance, YouTube listeners around the world describe my videos as “amazing” and “authentic.” Some have said that some songs sound “even better than the original.”
As a result, if hiring a band is too expensive, consider hiring a solo pianist and singer with high performance standards to entertain and impress your guests.

Music teaching enhances performance
As a private piano teacher I teach all the musical styles I play. Consequently I must explain to a student everything about a song and sometimes I see something new. So In the process I obtain better understandings of melody, harmony and rhythm that continue to enhance my own performance skills.
Sharing the Fun
There is also fulfillment in teaching piano. Nearly everyday I witness the enthusiasm and growth of a student. This is especially gratifying when children discover their abilities for the first time. So there is great fun in music as both a teacher and as a performer.
